By the end, you can

By the end of this course, you will be able to create, test and deploy complete Mule 4 projects in Anypoint Code Builder so that your team leaves Studio on a risk-ranked migration plan with zero functional drift.

Running case study

Aster Health maintains a prior-authorization API written years ago in Eclipse-based Studio; only two seniors dare touch it and release trains keep slipping. IT mandates the move to Anypoint Code Builder for Git-native projects and CI parity. Your lab: rebuild all 12 claim flows in ACB with zero functional drift, proven by the original MUnit suite.

Programme every line is something you do

6 modules · 13 topics · in course-flow order

  1. Module 1

    Studio vs Code Builder

Objective. Rank Aster's portfolio for migration by weighing ACB maturity, dependencies and team skills.

    • Position Anypoint Code Builder in the post-Eclipse IDE strategy: desktop and web editions
    • Compare Studio vs ACB parity: DataWeave preview, MUnit runner, packaging, known gaps
    • Score projects to fix the migration order: dependency risk, plugin needs, team familiarity
  2. Module 2

    Projects the Git-Native Way

Objective. Stand up a Git-native Mule 4.x project from the prior-auth OAS 3.x spec with a clean, reviewable layout.

    • Create Mule 4.x projects in ACB from templates or a cloned Git repository
    • Bind RAML 1.0/OAS 3.x specs to APIkit scaffolding without dragging Studio artifacts along
    • Organize for review: config separation, environment properties, .gitignore hygiene
  3. Module 3

    Flows & Live DataWeave Preview

Objective. Rebuild claim-adjudication flows with connectors and iterate mappings in inline DataWeave preview, contract-exact.

    • Assemble flows in the palette/XML editor: HTTP, Database and Anypoint MQ connectors in ACB
    • Iterate DataWeave 2.x with inline preview against sample payloads, no deploy needed
  4. Module 4

    Debug & MUnit In-IDE

Objective. Run and debug locally, then wire the inherited MUnit suite so parity failures surface before any commit.

    • Run and debug locally: breakpoints, payload inspection, quick restarts from ACB
    • Integrate MUnit: execute suites in-IDE, track coverage, fail fast on drift from the baseline
  5. Module 5

From IDE to Exchange & RM

Objective. Publish the rebuilt asset to Exchange and deploy through Runtime Manager or the untouched CI/CD pipeline.

    • Publish projects and reusable fragments to Exchange straight from ACB
    • Deploy via Runtime Manager or CI/CD, reusing the same Maven goals as the Studio era
  6. Module 6

    Lab: Full Studio Migration

Objective. Rebuild the whole prior-auth application end to end in ACB, equivalence proven by a green MUnit suite.

    • Rebuild an existing Studio app in ACB end to end: spec import, flows, DataWeave, MUnit green, deploy
